Enterprise 2.0 Summit Review

Last week, October 26-28, 2010, this year's Enterprise 2.0 SUMMIT took place in Frankfurt, Germany.
Being the third of his kind, the event was another great example for the evolving networking culture within the European Enterprise 2.0 community.

On three days, next to a pre-conference workshop and two parallel tracks featuring talks and discussions on Enterprise 2.0 challenges and practice presentations on different use case scenarios, and followed by an Open Space workshop for all participants of the event, the summit provided lots of great opportunities for networking, to talk with E2.0 experts and other practitioners to exchange best practices and own experiences.

I also found that there was a significantly decreased number of solution providers visible at the event, some of them probably provided more benefit to the community by attending the talks and discussions as speakers.

Overall, one could see and hear that there was an increased E2.0 maturity at attending companies, even though not many of them were in what we would call a mature state.
While the cultural change still seems to be the biggest challenge within the companies, there seems to be a disaggreement in what order might be the best to get into a mature E2.0 state, as some speakers took an open culture already as a pre-condition to become an Enterprise 2.0, then looking into the Technology to support this evolution, while others focused on what organizational changes are neccessary to support any changes at all.

Read more about what happened in the individual sessions in my notes from the event.
